The production 2.3 makes 270 horsepower, the high-flow air intake, cat-back exhaust and some engine ECU adjustments make 350 horsepower, and stock 310 lb-ft of torque is up to 385 lb-ft. Plus six inch lift, new shocks, bumpers, fender flares, and it comes to a grand total of $65k USD. Wait, how much? Not a chance!

Why would anyone buy Hennessy anything? How has his own reputation not driven him out of business?

Eh yeah...no. It’s moderately amusing to me that even little trucks cost almost as much as big trucks do and really they do because the big 3 are somewhat falesely inflating the cost of the full size trucks. I mean really a normal 4x4 ranger is what 39k? An F-150 of similar equipment is roughly a few thousand more when considering the bonkers rebates they offer

Exactly.

It’s a Hennessey.
That means the engine is overstated by at least 15%, half the parts will be bolt-ons from China, and delivery will only happen after you sue to get your $65k (up front of course) refunded after 2 years of no truck.

Because most of his clientele probably only know the name from glowing reviews written by ‘journalists’ in major magazines and news sites.

Does it come with the box full of cocaine at that price?

Well, they can probably spare the money anyway.

Even Ford's own Ranger Raptor doesn't cost that much...and it's a diesel.

Is that $65k for the whole thing, truck included, or $65k for the package?

Whole thing, I hope.

Considering Hennessey is involved, who knows. Honestly though, it doesn’t sound like you get much for the money. Its not even a long-travel suspension kit, and there’s no mention of what it actually includes (remote reservoir shocks?), its just called “Stage 1". Its also only a 4" lift. Hennessey says that the whole lift and wheel combo will yield 6" lift. Not only that, it looks like its only 5" higher. They’re adding the 2" taller tire to the 4" lift. However, a 2" taller tire only gives you an extra inch of clearance.
